Who We Are

St. Elizabeth’ s Jubilee Center is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Maine, providing services to those in need in the Greater Portland area. We seek to meet basic human needs through our Essentials Pantry (St. E’s) while living into our charge of “standing with the poor wherever they are found to meet basic human needs and to build a more just society” in our small corner of the world.
St. Elizabeth’s derives its name from St. Elizabeth of Hungary (1207-1231 A.D.) who committed her life to serving the poor and the sick. The Center began its ministry in 2001 and was housed in several different locations before finding a home at St. Luke’s Cathedral in 2007.
