What We Do

Since its founding, St. Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry has provided, at no charge, non-food essentials to neighbors in need in the city of Portland. Each Tuesday we distribute essential personal care items that cannot be purchased with federal SNAP benefits, including toilet paper, soap, laundry detergent, feminine hygiene and incontinent products. These products are supplemented on a rotating basis with infant diapers, bed and bath linens, kitchen and cookware and oral health care products.
Children’s books, particularly board books and early readers, are offered weekly.
Winter coats and boots are distributed during the winter season.
Additionally, we connect people with other resources in the community for needs such as housing, furniture, language acquisition, job search assistance, and other social needs.
